In 2019, Steven Kou, a well-known tax expert in Greater Vancouver, officially announced his candidacy for the federal Liberal Party's nomination for the Richmond Central District MP election at a community meeting at the City Centre Community Centre. Steven Kou ran for federal parliament on behalf of the Canadian federal Liberal Party in 2015. He is a candidate with outstanding achievements in his professional field and rich election experience.
Steven Kou graduated from Lanzhou University in China in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree. After immigrating to Canada in 2001, he studied at the University of British Columbia (UBC) School of Business and obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He also obtained the Canadian CPA and CGA qualifications and worked in accounting. He also served as a director of BMO Private Bank in Montreal. He is currently the president of Ekon Wealth Management. In 2016, he returned to the University of British Columbia (UBC) Faculty of Law to pursue a Master of Laws degree.
